Introduction
Using ValueOps to Drive Continuous Improvement
In today’s fast-paced business environment, organizations can’t stand still. They must commit to continuous improvement as a fundamental element of running a successful business for the long term. If they aren’t constantly moving forward, they are falling behind. Customers are among the first stakeholders to notice when an organization lacks a commitment to continuous improvement. When a business can’t keep up with the evolving needs of current customers, those customers lose belief and trust in the business, resulting in falling unit sales, revenue, profitability and market share. Many organizations are currently pursuing transformation initiatives to try and reinvent themselves. If these are viewed only as ‘one and done’ endeavors, then they won’t achieve the expected results. In addition to the initial transformation work, there must be a relentless pursuit of ongoing improvement, creating an agile business that can evolve constantly to remain innovative and responsive to emerging threats and opportunities.
