    Introduction

Administering Automic Automation 26 requires knowing how its components are configured, how the Automation Engine runs, how Agents are kept current and authenticated, and how access is controlled.

This playlist starts with the Administration perspective in AWI, the configuration files, logs, traces, settings variables, and object templates. It continues with the Automation Engine server processes and their monitoring in AWI. It then covers centralized Agent upgrade and the three Agent authentication methods. It closes with functional security: Users, authorizations, privileges, and User Groups. Use it to configure, operate, and secure an Automic Automation 26 installation.

    Learning Objectives:

    • Navigate the Administration perspective and configure components through their configuration files, logs, traces, and settings variables.

    • Assign Automation Engine process roles and monitor server processes in AWI.

    • Upgrade agents with the centralized agent upgrade (CAU) and deploy the Local and Local-Remote authentication methods.

    • Define authorizations and privileges to secure objects and functions.

    • Build role-based security profiles with user groups.

    General Topics

This course provides Automic Automation v26 administrators with a direct, technical breakdown of core system configuration and maintenance tasks. It focuses on the structural elements required to govern the Automation Engine and its associated components.

    Advanced Processes

This course covers the Automation Engine (AE) server processes in Automic Automation version 26 (Standard). It explains the five process types: the work process (WP), the communication process (CP), the Java work process (JWP), the Java communication process (JCP), and the REST process. It describes how each type is configured in the UCSRV.ini file, how it binds to ports, and where its logs and traces are stored.

    Agents

This course covers two agent administration topics in Automic Automation version 26 (Standard): Centralized Agent Upgrade (CAU) and Agent authentication.

    Functional Security

This course covers the administration of functional security in Automic Automation version 26.
