DX NetOps SD-WAN Dashboards: Complete Visibility, Completely Customizable

In recent years, the adoption of SD-WAN technologies has taken off, and shows no signs of slowing. As enterprises become increasingly reliant upon these technologies, it grows ever more critical to ensure optimal availability and services levels are delivered.

Most SD-WAN technologies feature monitoring capabilities. However, as outlined in one of my prior posts, there are several key limitations to these offerings. In short, these tools are limited to a single vendor’s products, and they have constrained visibility; they effectively offer coverage that spans from edge to edge. However, there’s a lot that happens beyond these network edges that can have an impact on overall performance and the end-user experience.

DX NetOps by Broadcom is an advanced monitoring solution that offers complete coverage of network performance, fault, and flow, both in traditional and software-defined architectures. DX NetOps offers edge-to-edge visibility of SD-WAN environments, as well as the associated infrastructure that SD-WAN tunnels rely upon. With this unified platform, your network operations (NetOps) teams can track all your organization’s SD-WAN environments, even if you’re running technologies from multiple SD-WAN vendors.

Further, though the acquisition of AppNeta, Broadcom enables you to gain complete end-to-end coverage of the entire end-user traffic flow, including when connections span public cloud, ISP, and SaaS networks.

    Powerful, adaptable dashboard capabilities

To manage dynamic SD-WAN environments, it is essential that you have fast, intuitive access to targeted intelligence. Fundamentally, the faster you get the information you need, the faster you can act.

DX NetOps provides an array of capabilities that help your teams ensure they’re able to fully capitalize on the rich data being collected. DX NetOps provides out-of-the-box dashboards and workflows that help NetOps teams manage some of the largest SD-WAN deployments in the world. With these dashboards, teams can get started quickly, and nimbly expand their coverage as needs dictate. However, the benefits don’t stop there. The solution makes it easy to create new custom dashboards and tailor existing dashboards to your team’s specific environments, workflows, objectives, and preferences. With DX NetOps, it is easy for users to:

    • Modify existing dashboards. With DX Netops, you can start with existing, out-of-the-box dashboards and make any customizations desired.
    • Create new custom dashboards. Custom views can be created that can support a virtually infinite array of different visualization and aggregation use cases.
    • Leverage on-demand reports. Teams can leverage the solution’s on-demand reports, which enable fast triage when specific scenarios arise, including outages and performance issues.

    Flexible customization, infinite possibilities

DX NetOps features many pre-packaged dashboards that offer specific insights into SD-WAN tunnel performance. Further, with these dashboards, the solution makes it easy to drill down to get more details.

DX NetOps collects extensive metrics, and gives users complete flexibility in how that data is leveraged. Teams can tailor many different facets, including the following:

    • Severity levels. DX NetOps offers complete flexibility in setting severity levels, for example, you can specify what percentage of a threshold or metric is displayed as minor, major, and critical.
    • Metrics. Teams can create views of the range of SD-WAN metrics captured, including jitter, packet loss, and latency. Users can focus views based on maximum, minimum, and standard deviation.
    • Comparisons. With DX NetOps, you can leverage dashboards that do comparisons against baselines and averages, as well as compare against similar previous time windows.
    • Views. With DX NetOps, it is a simple process to create new views or modify the makeup of existing dashboards. Teams can create views with multiple dashboards in a single pane, select preferred layouts, and modify the number of rows and columns displayed. Users can also choose from trend charts, stacked charts, and other graphs.
    • Timeframes. These views can easily be changed to accommodate different timespans, so, for example, teams can see metrics over the course of one hour, 24 hours, one week, and so on.

With these flexible, advanced capabilities, teams can deepen their visibility, save time, speed triage, and get better insights for optimizing their environments and the user experience.
