This course focuses on three main personas:

• Functional Administrator: A user who prepares the reporting environment, validates Data Warehouse readiness, reviews access rights, and ensures that reporting data is available and secure.

• Advanced Report Designer: A user who understands the Reporting workspace and now wants to configure or update Data Providers that support report design.

• Reporting Data Owner: A business or technical user who understands the reporting requirement and helps identify which objects, attributes, joins, filters, and calculated metrics are needed for a report.

By the end of this course, you should be able to:

• Explain the Role of Data Providers: Describe how Data Providers act as the governed data source layer for Reporting in Clarity.

• Prepare Data for Reporting: Identify the key Data Warehouse jobs, system options, SQL Curve settings, Instantaneous Sync behavior, and access rights that support reporting data.

• Explore Out-of-the-Box Data Providers: Review existing Data Providers and understand how they can be used as starting points before creating or copying a provider.

• Apply the Objects-First Approach: Recognize when to use standard Clarity objects and when a focused query-based provider is appropriate.

• Configure Data Provider Components: Review and configure key areas, including Details, Queries, Objects, Joins, Pre-Filters, Security, and Preview.

• Create and Use Calculated Attributes: Understand calculated dimensions and metrics, including how they can support reusable reporting logic.

• Validate Data Provider Output: Use Preview to confirm that joins, filters, security, period settings, and calculated attributes return the expected data.

• Publish and Move Data Providers Safely: Understand when to publish a provider and how export/import can be used to move Data Provider definitions in a controlled way.
